Tbilisi City Hall suspends passenger payment system in public transport following alleged cyber attack
Tbilisi City Hall has announced that the passenger payment system for public transport will be temporarily disabled due to an alleged cyber attack.
According to the city hall, the payment device has been malfunctioning, producing an error message accompanied by an audio recording when payments were attempted.
Technical support for the passenger payment system is being provided by contractor companies of the Bank of Georgia (BoG), including MS and Azri Ltd.
Representatives from these companies are currently working to resolve the technical issue.
“During this period, public transport will operate free of charge for passengers,” Tbilisi City Hall stated.
