Tbilisi City Hall restricts traffic due to Alilo procession on January 7

The City Hall announced traffic restrictions for the Alilo traditional Christmas procession on January 7 in Tbilisi.

The procession will kick off from First Republic Square at 2 p.m. and will be completed at 4 p.m. at the Sameba (Holy Trinity) Cathedral.

During that period, motorcars moving in the direction of Freedom Square will use alternative routes, taking the adjacent streets of Revaz Tamukashvili, Giorgi Leonidze, and Pavle Ingorokva streets.

From Petre Melikishvili streets, drivers moving towards the upper Mtatsminda district, will use Simon Janashia, Ivane Tarkhnishvili, Tamar Chovelidze, Mikheil Zandukeli, Vasil Barnovi, Iakob Gogebashvili, Maro Makashvili and Brothers Zandukelis streets.

From 3 p.m., traffic will be completely restricted on Freedom Square for approximately 30 minutes for motorcars moving in the direction of Nikoloz Baratashvili Bridge and Avlabari Square.

Movement will be free across the right riverbank of the Mtkvari. Routes of public transport will also be temporarily modified. From First Republic Square towards Rustaveli Avenue, transport will move from Mikheil Javakhishvili Street to the right riverbank of the Mtkvari and connect to Baratashvili Street.
