Tbilisi City Hall plans to rehabilitate a major section of Aghmashenebeli Avenue, from Tamar Mepe Avenue to Marjanishvili Square, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said at today’s meeting of the capital’s government.

According to Kaladze, a tender for the procurement of rehabilitation works has already been announced, with the deadline for applications set for September 3.

“We are actively continuing to implement infrastructure projects in various districts and neighborhoods of the capital. Our goal is to create an orderly, safe and modern environment in the city that serves the interests of our citizens every day and, most importantly, stands the test of decades,” Kaladze said.

Under the project, the drainage network will be upgraded, while the sidewalks and roadway will be rehabilitated. The existing damaged paving stones will be replaced with a new asphalt surface.

A bicycle lane will also be constructed, while the street lighting network will be renovated and LED lamps installed.

Green islands and infrastructure at Marjanishvili Square will be upgraded, and the area will be adapted to meet the needs of people with disabilities, according to the mayor.

Kaladze called on all interested and qualified companies to actively participate in the tender for the rehabilitation works.
