Tbilisi City Hall joins liver transplantation state program

Tbilisi City Hall joined the state program, which fully finances liver transplantation surgeries, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced.

Kakha Kaladze welcomed Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili’s decision and emphasized that healthcare and social programs remain top priorities of the city budget.

According to Kaladze, the City Hall has been funding liver transplantation surgeries with 50% since 2018. Later, the financing increased by 10 thousand and amounted to 70 thousand in the budget.

“The full state funding is very much welcome, and the Tbilisi City Hall joins the decision, which will be enforced from July 1. Tbilisi City Hall will fully finance the surgery. I believe this is an important program,” he said.
