Tbilisi City Hall installs protection grid at Chabua Amirejibi road

Tbilisi City Hall is installing a protection grid at the Chabua Amirejibi road to protect the territory from stones sliding down the road, said Giorgi Abutidze, Head of the Infrastructure Development Municipal Service.

The work will take one month, and the traffic will be restricted periodically.

“We observe safety norms on the territory. The road will be closed between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., and once we start installing the grid, traffic will be completely restricted to one lane of the highway so that even if one small pebble falls, we stay protected,” he noted.

Giorgi Abutidze remarked that the grid would replace an older one arranged in 2010. He further added that specialists monitor other “problematic spots” across the city to perform similar works.
