Tbilisi City Court convicts five defendants to prison in fraudulent call centre case

The Tbilisi City Court has sentenced all five defendants in the fraudulent call centre case to prison as a preventive measure, affirming the prosecution’s request for incarceration.

Among the accused, three individuals have been arrested. At the same time, two—Eldar Biniashvili and Davit Todua, who are alleged to be unofficial shareholders and managers of the call centre—remain at large. A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for October 31.

According to the prosecutor’s office, one of the alleged leaders of the fraudulent call centre, operating under the name Morgan Limited, transferred over one million dollars to Davit Kezerashvili, as well as his daughter and niece, during the period in which the company was defrauding citizens from various European countries.

Two weeks ago, law enforcement officials charged six individuals and one legal entity concerning this case. The victims include citizens from Germany, Slovakia, and Slovenia, with reported financial losses totalling €3,170,000.
