With the support of the National Wine Agency and organised by its contractor, Vinoveli Inc., a Georgian wine presentation, tasting, and business forum took place at the Rockefeller Centre in New York City, USA, according to a statement released by the National Wine Agency.

According to the agency, the event was attended by wine bloggers, importers, and representatives from the media, HoReCa (Hotel, Restaurant, and Café), and commercial sectors. Attendees were offered to sample approximately 40 varieties of wine produced by various Georgian wineries.

“Activities of this format serve to popularise Georgian wine, increase consumer interest, and strengthen the awareness and competitiveness of Georgian wine in the US market.

Visitors sampled a variety of premium Georgian wines, learning about the country’s 8,000-year winemaking heritage, its diverse local grape varieties, and traditional Qvevri winemaking methods.

The United States is a strategic market for Georgian wine, defined by strict quality standards and intense competition. In recent years, numerous marketing campaigns supported by the National Wine Agency have significantly boosted the profile and export of Georgian wine across the American market.

It is worth noting that the US market is one of the highest-value segments for Georgian wine, where the average export price per litre of Georgian wine stands at approximately 6 US dollars (for comparison, the average export price per litre of Georgian wine globally is around 3.11 US dollars),” the statement from the National Wine Agency read.
