Tamar Zhvania may take the post as Chairwoman of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) again if presented. The ruling team plans to support her candidacy based on the information of First Channel.

Tamar Zhvania may take the post as Chairwoman of the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) again if presented. The ruling team plans to support her candidacy based on the information of First Channel.

According to Election Code, the president has the authority to present the candidates for CEC Chairperson. Based on the law, the 2/3 of CEC membership elects chairperson with the presentation of the president through secret balloting or the person is elected by the president.

Three candidates are presented to the parliament for consideration. The parliament selects and approves the person on this position.

Terms of duties to Tamar Zhvania have expired.
