Swedish FM: We are extremely worried about the developments in Georgia

Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard has expressed concern over recent developments in Georgia.

Speaking ahead of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, Stenergaard said that Georgia is moving rapidly in a direction that distances the country from EU membership.

“We are extremely worried about the developments in Georgia. They are very fast in taking steps from EU membership. We are trying everything we can to support civilians who also work for democracy and freedom of the press, as we see this as urgent in Georgia,” Stenergard stated.
