Supreme Court Head Nino Gvenetadze signs decree on appointment of 34 judges for lifetime
Head of Georgia’s Supreme Court and Supreme Council of Justice Nino Gvenetadze held a meeting with judges concerning the regulation of appointment for lifetime.
As reported by the Press-Service of the Supreme Court of Georgia, the judges that have already been appointed for lifetime and those who are not yet attended the meeting.
‘The meeting was aimed at finding out viewpoints on the provisions of the relevant law on appointment of judges for lifetime and elaboration of a joint position as a result.
The Supreme Council members, judges and participants were provided with the viewpoints. They agreed that the judges and public will be informed on the proposal regarding appointment of the judges whose term is determined by 3 years for lifetime.
At the end of the meeting, the Supreme Council Head signed the decision by the Council concerning appointment of 34 judges for lifetime,’ the press-release reports.
