Severe weather in Chiauri village, Lagodekhi municipality, has resulted in substantial damage. The strong winds and heavy rain have torn roofs off several homes and flooded the first floors of approximately thirty houses, as well as home plots. The storm has also uprooted perennial plants and damaged power lines.
Firefighters and rescuers from the emergency management service are on-site, working to clear roads of fallen trees and help residents with water pumping. The technical team from Energo Pro-Georgia is actively working to restore the damaged power lines.
Although schools and kindergartens were not damaged, dozens of house roofs were affected, and many residential houses and homesteads in Chiauri village were flooded.
