Strong Georgia – Lelo voices support for ongoing protests: We stands with those detained by regime

“The Ivanishvili-Kobakhidze police regime has activated a new mechanism of violence to suppress the protest movement and instill fear in society, moving to daily, mass arrests. This is the shameful face of autocratic and repressive rule, which Georgian Dream now openly displays daily,” the Strong Georgia – Lelo statement says.

According to the statement, “The regime has declared a fight without rules against political opponents and the protest community, attempting to suppress free expression by violating constitutional rights and employing violence.”

“It is in such an apathetic state that the self-proclaimed Prime Minister expressed satisfaction by noting that ‘Rustaveli Street could not be blocked on the 329th day of continuous protest,’ despite ongoing arrests and police operations. For this ‘joy,’ Georgian Dream’s new commandant turned law enforcement into an armed gang carrying out illegal orders, including the seizure of respirator masks.

Amid these actions, patriotic young protesters continue to demonstrate fearlessness and commitment to freedom, earning widespread support. Strong Georgia – Lelo reaffirms its backing of the protest community and expresses full solidarity with those detained by the regime,” the statement concludes.
