Strong Georgia CEC Member: Remaining within CEC needed to expose and dismantle system
Giorgi Sioridze, a representative of Strong Georgia in the Central Election Commission (CEC), emphasized that involvement in the CEC is crucial for exposing and dismantling the current electoral system.
Sioridze made this statement in response to a question regarding Strong Georgia’s decision to re-nominate him as a CEC member, despite his criticisms of the commission for alleged election falsification and illegitimacy.
“The CEC chair was elected illegally, and we have been highlighting this issue for two years. While no one wants to be part of such a system, it is essential to be present to expose and dismantle it completely. Until we achieve that goal, we will continue to advocate on every front,” Sioridze asserted.
On November 27, the Chair of the Central Election Commission, Giorgi Kalandarishvili, approved the Strong Georgia coalition’s application to reappoint Sioridze as a member of the CEC.
