Strategy Agmashenebeli offers action plan to gov’t, opposition

Strategy Agmashenebeli leader Giorgi Vashadze offers an action plan to the sides to reach an agreement as “polarization and aggravated confrontation pose a risk for civil strife.”

The action plan is as follows:

• Georgia’s ex-president’s transfer to a civic clinic immediately;
• To create legal mechanisms to bring trust among opposing parties;
• Parliament should approve ambitious judicial reform in due course;
• A constitutional amendment over the transition to a fully-proportional system should be adopted in three readings promptly;
• To initiate a broad public discussion regarding changes in the form of government;
• To prepare a package of fundamental legislative changes;
• The power should be distributed in line with the April 19 deal;

Strategy Agmashenebeli urges all sides, NGOs, Georgia’s partners to engage in improving the said plan.
