Strategy Aghmashenebeli leader says opposition to be gov't representative per EU standards
It is a European standard that the opposition is also the government representative. It is the kind of Georgia we want to build, where the opposition is part of the country’s administration and not excluded from the country’s oversight, Giorgi Vashadze, the leader of “Strategy Agmashenebeli,” said about this.
Vashadze believes that this model follows the European style.
“For Shalva Papuashvili and people of this Soviet mentality, representatives of opposition political groups are not considered representatives of the government and the country. The European, Western, and American standard is that the opposition is also the government representative. It is the kind of Georgia we want to build, where the opposition is a part of the country’s administration and not excluded from oversight. Therefore, what Papuashvili says is a lie, and this Soviet model, which they have in their psychology, in their brains, and which Ivanishvili claims, will never have a place in Georgia. The European model is that any political party, including the opposition, represents its own state and political interests,” said Giorgi Vashadze.
