“The Georgian Dream (GD) party is in poor condition, while its members are convincing each other that the party has 60% support. However, none of the polls, which are more or less authoritative, show similar results,” said Paata Manjgaladze, the opposition Strategy Aghmashenebeli party member.
According to Manjgaladze, the GD never secured 60% of votes in the elections after the election of Giorgi Margvelashvili as president.
“Even when Bidzina Ivanishvili (GD founder) was in the midst and almost served as the idol of spiritual faith, the GD had no such support. Georgian people received no benefit from the Georgian Dream. The main question people ask in the streets is when they leave.
The opposition plans to lead a more peoples problems-oriented campaign. We should have closer contact with people. Elections are not won from offices. We have launched this process, and I am sure other opposition parties will keep up the pace. If the GD performs well, why did this person (Bidzina Ivanishvili) return to politics?” he said.
Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili stated earlier he expected the Georgian Dream to win at least 60% of votes in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
