State Minister, MEPs meet

Tea Akhvlediani, Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, met with the delegation of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence of the European Parliament.

State Minister thanked the MEPs for their unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, the country’s European aspiration, and Georgia’s peace policy. She stressed the EU’s significant role in the peaceful solution to the conflicts and underscored the importance of Georgia’s EU membership application and adopting the questionnaire.

The meeting focused on the dire security, humanitarian, and human rights situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and the existing challenges.

The State Minister briefed the MEPs on the Georgian government’s peace policy priorities, including the reconciliation and engagement policy, also the results and plans.
