State Minister for Reconciliation holds working meeting with EUMM Head

Tea Akhvlediani, State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, held a working meeting with Bettina Boughani, Head of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia, according to an official statement issued by the Office of the State Minister.

According to the agency, the State Minister highlighted the significance of the EUMM’s presence on the ground as the sole international monitoring mission.

“The sides discussed key areas of cooperation, including developments and future perspectives regarding the policy of reconciliation and engagement, as well as the implementation of the peace initiative ‘A Step to a Better Future’.

The parties underlined the importance of the Geneva International Discussions and the Ergneti Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM).

For her part, the Head of the EU Monitoring Mission commended the Georgian side’s efforts in the peaceful resolution of the conflict within the framework of its engagement and reconciliation policy. The sides agreed to maintain close future cooperation,” the statement from the Office of the State Minister reads.
