SSSG releases video footage in connection with Georgian citizen charged with espionage

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) released video footage in the case of Giorgi Udzilauri, charged with espionage.

According to the SSSG, the covert recording shows him receiving instructions, transferring the money, and signing the appropriate document.

“We are releasing a segment of a secret video recording that shows a citizen arrested on espionage charges receiving instructions, transferring money, and signing the relevant documents during a conspiratorial meeting,” the SSSG said.

The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) announced Udzilauri’s arrest on May 5, stating that he had been detained for allegedly collecting and transmitting information on behalf of foreign intelligence operatives.

On May 7, Giorgi Udzilauri, who was arrested on espionage charges, was placed in pretrial detention as a preventive measure by the court.
