SSSG detains three Georgian citizens for commercial bribery, producing forged official documents

Officers from the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG), through conducted operative-investigation measures, detained three Georgian citizens for commercial bribery and producing forged official documents.

The investigation determined that the detained individuals took money from citizens in return for issuing positive conclusions of technical inspection of vehicles from Tech 2017 Inspection Center located in Marneuli, despite the fact that the said vehicles did not meet the requirements established by law.

Further investigation is in progress under Article 221, Part 3; Article 362, Part 1; Article 25-221, Part 4, Subparagraph “a”; and Article 25-362, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The crime carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to six years.
