The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) detained a foreign national who attempted to misappropriate real estate property with counterfeit documents, SSSG Deputy Head Lasha Maghradze announced at the briefing.

“The detained individual, at the same time, attempted to acquire a large amount of real estate using a fake passport of a citizen of another country. The detainee, on behalf of a citizen of another country, through a notary scheme, attempted to grant a third party the right to dispose of real estate registered in Georgia.

The detained individual faces 6-9 years’ imprisonment if convicted.
