Giorgi Bolotashvili, who was illegally detained by Russian occupation forces near the village of Khurvaleti in the Gori municipality, has been released and is now in territory controlled by the central government, the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) reported.
“The release was achieved through the active use of the hotline mechanism involving the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) and all relevant tools available to the central government,” the SSSG stated.
The government continues its efforts to secure the release of all Georgian citizens illegally detained in the occupied territories.
