Special gift for European audience - 'Iriao' recorded new version of Salvador Sobral's song

Less than 10 days left before one of the most popular and large-scale competition of Europe. The preparation for Eurovision 2018 is almost completed.

Georgian contenders of 2018 Eurovision, ethno jazz band “Iriao” will depart for Portugal today. Before departure Georgian participants prepared a special gift for the European audience.

The band recorded a new version of ‘Amar pelos dois’ the song of Salvador Sobral, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.  The new arrangement of the song belongs to the musical director of the band Davit Malazonia.

“We thought a lot about what kind of gift to give Portugal and Mr. Davit suggested to perform the song, which won the previous Eurovision, in our own style. We will send the video clip of the song to Portugal”, – Giga Abashidze, one of the members of the band told the First Channel.

According to director Zaza Orashvili, this is a good chance for making European audience acquainted with Iriao.
