Special flight from Muscat brings stranded Georgian citizens home

Today, an additional special flight from Muscat to Tbilisi was operated, completing the return of Georgian citizens whose departure had not been arranged promptly by commercial airlines, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia reported.

According to the ministry, more than 600 Georgian citizens who applied to Georgian embassies to use government-organised flights safely returned home on special flights from Muscat (Sultanate of Oman) and Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

Given the current situation in the Middle East and the travel disruptions caused by the closure of airspace in several countries, four special flights were operated under the decision of the Georgian government.
