Speaker views security, prosperity, territorial integrity as key values
“The significance of peace has been confirmed once again, and its value increases day by day,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in the GPB First Channel’s Topic of the Day program.
According to Papuashvili, the Georgian population visualized how after the start of the conflict and war, air navigation and flights were redirected to the Middle Corridor, a significant part of which is Georgia.
“This process is not something new. This process became especially apparent after 2022, and our cautious position was preconditioned by this. Our main values are the security of our population, prosperity and restoration of territorial integrity.
These are the measurements of any decisions. Other measurements, such as EU foreign policy and foreign policy priorities of any Baltic state, are of secondary importance compared to our goals. This is to maintain the prospect of restoring territorial integrity, improving the well-being of the population and security amid such conflicts.
The significance of peace has been confirmed once again, and its value increases day by day. The Georgian population visualized how after the start of the conflict and war, air navigation and flights were redirected to the Middle Corridor, a significant part of which is Georgia. Therefore, this is the rational policy, which serves to ensure our population’s security,” he said.
