“It is unusual for the entire electric system to shut down in succession; it is important to clarify all the details and determine whether there was any interference or an act of sabotage,” said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili.

The Speaker urged society to wait for the conclusion of the investigation.

“Let us see what the outcome of this investigation will be. It is important to establish all the details, whether a human factor, outside interference, or an act of sabotage was involved. Let us see what we are dealing with,” he said.

The State Security Service of Georgia has launched an investigation into the case of emergency power outages that occurred nationwide on July 24 and 25 under the charge of sabotage.

The Georgian Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (GNERC) will investigate the precise causes of the large-scale electric power outage that affected the entire country.
