“The U.S. has set an example by initiating the foreign aid disclosure and verification process. Against this background, the inaction of other donors is unacceptable,” Parliament Chair Shalva Papuashvili posted on social media.

Papuashvili noted that “every cent spent in Georgian politics from Brussels and other capitals must be verified and disclosed.”

“After the new U.S. administration’s acknowledgement that harmful interference in domestic politics was being funded under the umbrella of foreign aid, it’s no longer surprising why donors incited their ‘NGOs’ against the transparency law.

The U.S. has set an example by initiating the process of foreign aid disclosure and verification. Against this background, the inaction of other donors is unacceptable. Every cent spent in Georgian politics from Brussels and other capitals must be verified and disclosed,” writes Shalva Papuashvili.
