Speaker: Trump Tower development demonstrates confidence in Georgia’s stability

“We are not attacking anyone. We have maintained peace for 14 years, and our criticism is always a response to attacks against Georgia and the Georgian people. We and the Georgian people reserve the right to be critical of any state or policy that concerns Georgia’s national interests,” Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said.

According to Papuashvili, if someone wants the Georgian government and Georgian people to remain silent so that they can be comfortable, the only way to achieve this is to refrain from attacking the Georgian people.

“As for relations with the United States, the dynamics of recent months show that these relations are moving toward a reset. We are satisfied with the dynamics between the two countries. In particular, a new Chargé d’Affaires has been appointed, who is very positively disposed toward our country. There is communication between the foreign ministries, and the implementation of Trump Tower has also begun in Georgia, which reflects President Trump’s personal confidence in Georgia’s stable development.

All of this shows that the relations are moving in the right direction. We have stated what our benchmark is for determining when we can say that these relations fully correspond to our expectations. Establishing a new strategic partnership is the benchmark that will allow us to say that we are satisfied,” he added.
