“Working relations between the Georgian and U.S. foreign ministries are proceeding as usual. Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia recently held a routine working meeting at the State Department concerning bilateral ties,” stated the Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

Regarding political relations with the United States, Papuashvili noted that Georgia is currently in a state of waiting.

“The willingness on our part to rebuild and reset relations is significant. We are prepared to move past the harmful practices carried out by the Biden administration against the Georgian people, including interference in our elections. We are ready to turn this page and restore the relationship between the United States and Georgia,” he affirmed.

On February 3, Deputy Foreign Minister Lasha Darsalia met with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Brendan Hanrahan in Washington.
