Speaker: Sad that despite Georgia's solidarity, Ukrainian ambassador still not appointed
Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Monday said: “It is very sad that in response to the solidarity the Georgian people and the Georgian government show towards Ukraine, the Ukrainian Ambassador has not been appointed to Georgia.”
The Speaker believes “it is not correct to set preconditions.” He claims Ukraine should “restore its stance” with the Georgian people and state. “Appointing an ambassador would be a manifestation of it,” Papuashvili remarked.
David Arakhamia, head of the governing Servant of the People faction and Ukraine’s chief negotiator with Russia, earlier said: “If [Mtavari TV founder] Nika Gvaramia is released, I will be the first to approach the President about sending an Ambassador to Georgia.”
