Speaker: Russia must end brutality that has no borders

Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, condemned the explosion of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant in Ukraine, saying “Russia must end the brutality that has no borders”.

“The destruction of the Kakhovka HPP dam on the Dnipro is yet another irresponsible act with catastrophic consequences of the Russian war against Ukraine. Russia must end the brutality that has no borders and negatively influences everybody in the region and beyond. We call on the EU and others with effective influence instruments to engage more vigorously to end this disaster,” he tweeted.

Early morning on June 6, the Russian occupation forces blew up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP). The facility has been entirely wrecked since the turbine hall was blown up from within and cannot be restored.

Ukraine’s Energoatom said the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by Russian troops could have negative consequences for the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but the situation is under control.
