Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili has met with King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf, the Parliament’s press office has said.
It noted that Speaker Papuashvili underlined the long-term close cooperation between Georgia and Sweden in both bilateral and multilateral formats.
“The parties discussed the new geopolitical situation created by the Russian aggression in Ukraine and noted the importance of regular political dialogue.
Shalva Papuashvili spoke about Georgia’s path to European integration and stressed the importance of granting candidate status to Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova.
The King of Sweden stated that Sweden will continue to support Georgia’s territorial integrity, European aspirations and democratic development,” the Parliament asserted.
