Speaker Papuashvili meets Assembly President of North Macedonia

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili met the President of the Assembly of North Macedonia, Afrim Gashi.

Shalva Papuashvili thanked Afrim Gashi for North Macedonia’s support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The meeting focused on the significance of cooperation’s deepening both on the parliamentary level and in trade, economy and tourism sectors.

The conversation also touched on relations with the European Union and the progress and challenges of the two countries as EU candidate countries on European integration path.

The meeting was held in Istanbul within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), where Shalva Papuashvili is scheduled to deliver a speech.

The delegation, led by the Speaker, includes the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, Nikoloz Samkharadze, and Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze.
