Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili continues his visit to Finland, and Sweden, following his visit to Norway and Denmark.
Today the Speaker is holding meetings in Finland. He met with his Finnish colleague Matti Vanhanen and discussed bilateral parliamentary ties, security threats on the European continent and Georgia’s EU/NATO integration agenda.

Papuashvili also held “a fruitful” meeting with Chair of the Grand Committee of the Finnish Parliament, Satu Hassi, and discussed Russia’s war against Ukraine, Georgia’s progress on its European integration path and parliamentary agenda.
“We count on the Finnish support for granting a candidate status to Georgia,” he said.
