The Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, Wednesday held a meeting with the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola in Brussels.

The parties discussed the cooperation between the Georgian and European Parliaments and the EU integration of Georgia. The Speaker invited Roberta Metsola to Georgia, the Parliament’s press office has said.

“The President of the European Parliament is interested in Georgia. I believe, certain steps of cooperation will be taken in the nearest future between the Georgian and European Parliaments. Roberta Metsola is a true friend of our country supporting the return of Georgia to the European family,” the Speaker stated.

In her tweet, Roberta Metsola said European Parliament acknowledges application for EU Membership. “Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine belong to the European family.”
