Speaker Papuashvili: EP’s session revealed civilisational divide: contempt instead of debate, lies instead of facts

“If anyone wishes to understand what the civilisational divide in Europe truly looks like, they need only watch yesterday’s session of the European Parliament,” Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, posted on social media.

According to Papuashvili, this is no longer the Europe where Georgians see themselves as co-creators.

“Instead of meaningful discussion — contempt; instead of facts — lies; instead of responsibility — a posture of civilisational superiority. This is no longer the Europe we, Georgians, once believed to be a part of,” Papuashvili wrote.
