“Today we celebrate the anniversary of the State Security Service, the defender of peace, sovereignty, and democracy in our country,” stated Georgia’s Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili during his speech at an event held in connection with the anniversary of the State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG).

According to the Parliament Speaker, against the backdrop of a complex geopolitical situation, the State Security Service’s flexibility, complete readiness, and professionalism acquire even more critical importance.
According to him, the results of the service’s activities have been demonstrated repeatedly in recent periods, showing how successfully they handle various types of tasks, including large-scale special operations.

Day by day, the global security environment becomes increasingly tense and complex. Against the backdrop of a complex geopolitical situation, the State Security Service’s flexibility, complete readiness, and professionalism acquire utmost critical importance. Recent years have reminded us that what determines international politics is not altruism, but national interests, which complicates compromise and cooperation between countries. Accordingly, for any state institution, especially for the main link in the country’s security system, the primary measure when making decisions should be our country’s national interests.
