Speaker: Opposition boycotts amnesty discussion, will face voters' response

“The opposition, with almost its full composition, announced a boycott of the extraordinary parliamentary session, so boycotting the amnesty discussion,” said the Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, at today’s Bureau session.

“Except for European Socialists and Girchi, almost the entire opposition is boycotting the extraordinary session, actually boycotting the amnesty. From what I observe, it seems nearly everyone is boycotting the amnesty. It’s up to them. They will go to the voters and get a response,” said Shalva Papuashvili.

The extraordinary session of the Parliament includes discussing the draft law on amnesty.
