Speaker: No other people, country, or power determines fate of our state, people
“The oath of a Member of Parliament entails our primary obligation to safeguard the interests of the Georgian people,” said Shalva Papuashvili, the Georgian Parliament Speaker.
Papuashvili underscored that no other people, country, or power should determine the life of the Georgian people. “This is exactly what the law on Transparency of Foreign Influence addresses,” he added.
“The Georgian Parliament made an important decision. Anri Okhanashvili read the oath of the members of parliament, which emphasizes our primary obligation to safeguard the interests of the Georgian people and act according to their mandate. No other people, country, or power determines the fate of our state and people. This is exactly what this law is about. Thank you very much for that,” said Shalva Papuashvili.
The Georgian Parliament has overridden the President’s veto on the Transparency of Foreign Influence law.
