Speaker meets with Public Defender

The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani.

As Papuashvili wrote on social media, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Parliament and the Public Defender’s Office, as well as enhancing parliamentary support for the institution.

“I met with the Public Defender of Georgia, Levan Ioseliani, to discuss ways to strengthen further cooperation between the Parliament of Georgia and the Public Defender’s Office. I emphasized the importance of intensifying this partnership and highlighted the need for greater parliamentary support. During the meeting, held in the legislative body, we reviewed ongoing collaboration with parliamentary committees and underlined that deepening the relationship between the Parliament and the Public Defender’s Office is crucial for upholding the rule of law and protecting human rights,” the Speaker wrote.
