Speaker meets newly appointed Brazilian Ambassador

The Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to Georgia, Carlos Martins Ceglia, the Parliament’s press service reported.

According to the statement, the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Georgia and Brazil.

“Attention was drawn to the importance of strengthening parliamentary ties. Shalva Papuashvili recalled his productive meeting in Geneva with the Chairman of the Lower House of the Brazilian National Congress. The sides also discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of economy and culture. The Speaker briefed the Ambassador on Georgia’s successful economic policy.

The parties reviewed regional policies of both Georgia and Brazil, as well as Brazil’s preparations for the 2026 presidential and parliamentary elections.

Shalva Papuashvili wished the Ambassador success in his mission,” the statement reads.
