Speaker meets new Ambassador of Norway

Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Norway to Georgia, Bergljot Hovland.

Parties underscored the positive development of cooperation between the two nations, particularly since the opening of the Norwegian Embassy in Georgia four years ago. The discussions primarily revolved around the advancement of parliamentary relations.

Papuashvili expressed gratitude to Norway for its steadfast support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He expressed optimism about Norway’s ongoing support for Georgia’s NATO aspirations.

The Ambassador congratulated the Speaker on a positive European Commission’s recommendation for granting candidate status to Georgia and assured that Norway would continue contributing to Georgia’s democratic progress and aligning it with European standards.
