Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili met with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.

According to the Parliament, Papuashvili welcomed Milanović’s first visit to Georgia and emphasized its importance. The parties highlighted the friendly relations between Georgia and Croatia.

Shalva Papuashvili thanked the Croatian side for its unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. President Milanović said he was surprised by the European Union’s current attitude toward Georgia and noted that his goal was to discuss the situation directly with the Georgian authorities. He stressed that Croatia firmly stands by Georgia.

Papuashvili briefed the Croatian President on recent developments in Georgia and on Georgia–EU relations. Milanović positively assessed Georgia’s policy aimed at protecting sovereignty and national interests.
