“This obsession of the Baltic states is no longer serious. It is difficult to explain their specific obsession toward the Georgian people,” the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, stated in response to a question regarding the sanctioning of ten Georgian citizens by Lithuania.

He described the move as a “hostile policy” against the Georgian people.

“There are three countries that should understand the challenges Georgia faces, yet they have turned their backs on the Georgian people. This marks the culmination of a long-standing hostile policy. Do you remember who supported Saakashvili in previous years? The Baltic political elite. And who consistently tried to provoke unrest by emboldening him? Again, the Baltic political elite. Sadly, this reflects the continuation of an anti-Georgian stance pursued by the Baltic states,” he stated.

Papuashvili commented to the Georgian media in Geneva after Lithuania imposed visa sanctions on ten additional Georgian citizens.
