Work on the nine steps started back in December. The government follows the action plan approved by the European Commission for the EU integration, the Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, stated ahead of the first working meeting on the EC’s nine recommendations.
The Speaker mentioned that the meeting will be in a working format with the involvement of both the opposition and the civil sector.
“You are aware that the specific steps outlined in this regard are detailed in the action plan. Georgia has already shown positive statistics in various aspects, particularly related to the accession. Regarding the fight against disinformation, it’s worth noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tasked with overseeing this matter on an institutional level. Addressing misinformation is a top priority, and we are actively countering it through our daily statements.
Additionally, during today’s session, we will delve into various crucial issues, including depolarization in parliamentary cooperation, judicial reform, election matters, anti-corruption initiatives, and special investigation service concerns,” the Speaker declared.
