Speaker: Georgian nation not to tolerate occupation

“Today is the day to commemorate Junkers, youngsters who resisted Soviet occupation and fell in the fight against the Red Army,” said Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili.

According to the Speaker, the day reminds us that the Georgian nation will never tolerate occupation.

“This day reminds us of the occupation of our territories even today. This occupation continues and we must not forget the struggle against Junkers against the occupation. We must bring this fight to an end, liberate our country from the occupation, and end it with the unity of our country,” he said.

The Speaker, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze and representatives of the executive and legislative authorities visited the Memorial of Junkers in the parliament courtyard.
