Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili stated that the European Union’s so-called “peace project” is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a “war project.”

“I don’t know how much the EU capitals realize that the ‘peace project’ is increasingly resembling a ‘war project,’” Papuashvili wrote on social media, adding that “EU leaders themselves should discuss this. However, the fact is one – Brussels is behind the street wars in Tbilisi.”

His remarks echoed recent comments by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who announced the launch of a petition campaign against Brussels’ “war plan.” According to Orbán, Europe is “on the verge of a hot autumn,” warning that the continent “is moving faster toward war.”
