Speaker dismisses ex-President's claims, saying sabotage was when Saakashvili sneaked into Georgia

The only act of sabotage witnessed was in October 2022 when Mikheil Saakashvili sneaked into Georgia by a container truck, Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili said.

He claimed that Saakashvili, driven by foreign special services, entered the country two days before the elections to cause disorder and destabilize the nation.

Speaker dismissed Saakashvili’s claims about a subversive group.

“Exactly what he [Saakashvili] talks about is actually a description of his then plan and the plan of special services controlling him,” Papuashvili said.

During a court session, Saakashvili raised concerns about potential threats to the country, claiming that a subversive group had entered Georgia. He suggested the creation of a Civil Defense hotline for monitoring and reporting anti-Georgian activities.
