Speaker condemns "political hyenas parasitising on human tragedy"

“There are political hyenas who are parasitising on human tragedy,” declared Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, in his comments on the partial collapse of a residential building near the Station Square in Tbilisi.

Following a journalist’s question about opposition parties engaging in political speculation following the tragedy, Papuashvili responded, “Nothing is surprising in this.”

“This is fueled from outside sources—hysteria and an ambush designed to manipulate the situation for political gain. These are ordinary political parasites who exploit people’s suffering. Such behaviour is nothing new; they have been doing this for years and will continue in the future. They are political hyenas parasitising on the tragedy of innocent people,” Shalva Papuashvili emphasised.

Yesterday, part of a residential building near the Station Square in Tbilisi collapsed. According to the latest reports, two people lost their lives in the incident, and one injured individual is currently hospitalised.
