Speaker: Civilisational abyss led by Brussels is evident in U.S. report on election interference and censorship

“The civilisational abyss that Brussels is steering the EU towards is also reflected in the recent U.S. report, which highlights how attempts to pursue a political agenda through election interference and censorship have become a concerning reality,” stated Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia.

Papuashvili emphasised that the actions of the Georgian government are justified.

“Our primary weapon is the truth. All our actions are rooted in honesty, which sometimes means it takes weeks or even years for our truth to come to light. Nevertheless, the fact remains that our truth is recognised. One of these truths is that Brussels interferes in the elections of other nations. Georgia’s case is among the most blatant, with the ambassador directly meddling, and Brussels funding NGOs that operate under false pretences. We know little about who is behind these organisations or their registrations. After their defeat in the 2024 elections, there has been an attempt to undermine Georgian democracy and the will of the people. They are attempting to disenfranchise 1.2 million voters, or to expel these individuals from the country, or to create reservations claiming their opinions are irrelevant, and that only a handful of Brussels-paid NGO workers are actually Georgians.

The civilisational abyss that Brussels is leading the EU into is evident in this report, which exposes its efforts to advance a political agenda through censorship and election interference,” Papuashvili declared.

For reference, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee recently published a report stating that “the European Commission remains committed to censorship, targeting conservative content and meddling in elections across Europe.”
